These Kingman Turquoise stones are set in sterling silver and hang from sterling silver ear wires. They feature textured silver domes and are wrapped with braided sterling silver wire. The earrings are 1 1/8” long and 7/8” wide. The Kingman Turquoise Mine has produced more turquoise than any other, including the Ithaca Peak and Turquoise Mountain extensions, each offering unique colors. Navajos first mined Kingman turquoise around 600 A.D. as part of their trade. It was rediscovered in the 1800s but gained popularity after Leonard Hardy's marketing from 1950 to 1970. The most popular Kingman turquoise is bright blue with black or silver matrix, but it can also appear dark blue or light green due to the mine's size.
